Thanksgiving Feast Day

First everyone got into a costume of their liking, then we made "apple turkeys," and sang "Going on a Turkey Hunt!" For lunch we made apple spice muffins and turkey soup. Some of the children even ate the turkey soup :)

We made turkey soup!

 Happy Thanksgiving!

 Thanksgiving Poem

"For each new morning with its light,
For rest and shelter of the night,
For health and food,
For love and friends,
For everything
Thy goodness sends."

Katy No-Pockets and more...

During the last few weeks we have been learning about the letters Hh, Ii, Jj, and Kk. Some of the books we enjoyed together were, The Scarecrow's Hat, Manana Iguana, and Katy No-Pocket.
In Katy No-Pocket, Katy's distress at being a kangaroo with no pouch is quickly remedied by a kindly construction worker. In the end "Katy Kangaroo is very happy because now she has more pockets than any mother kangaroo in the world!" I especially love Katy No-Pocket because Katy has such a big mother's heart and fills all of her newly aquired pockets with lots of baby animals.

Here are a few pictures to give you a sampling of what we've been up to... Enjoy!

Welcome to the Bizzy Bee Blogspot!

We are already in our 9th week! The students at Bizzy Bee are definitely busy exploring, experimenting and discovering new things every day! Together we are learning about letters, numbers, colors and shapes along with patience, respect, cooperation and forgiveness. Three words that stand out for me as a description of the last 9 weeks are:
  • Curiosity
  • Enthusiasm
  • Friendship
I love watching the miracle of learning and growing that is taking place during the preschool years. I see it in the expression on a child's face as she learns to cut with scissors, negotiates the sharing of a toy, or works hard to repeat a word more clearly and the victory of being understood!

My word of encouragement to all the parents of my students: embrace this season of parenting your young family. It really will be over before you know it. Treasure each day. Take time to look into your child's eyes when they talk to you and get all the together snuggle time you can! This is a precious time.

Thanks so much for sharing your children with me. I consider your trust an honor.
